What is ENERGY STAR?

Created by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the ENERGY STAR rating is reserved for only the most energy-efficient products on the market. In fact, ENERGY STAR products often greatly exceed the minimum energy efficiency standards set by federal and state governments.

One of the hallmarks of Oilheat equipment has always been efficiency. Now, oil-fired boilers and furnaces are more efficient than ever!

There are more than 200 models of oil-fired boilers produced by 30 companies that meet the ENERGY STAR AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) rating standards from 85% to 92%. Ten manufacturers produce 165 oil-fired furnace models with AFUE ratings from 83% to 95%. The more efficient a unit is, the less amount of fuel is needed to extract the same amount of heat ... homeowners enjoy the same comfort as before but with considerably lower energy costs. With improved features such as new combustion technologies, ENERGY STAR qualified oil boilers are approximately 10% more efficient, and oil furnaces approximately 15% more efficient, than standard models.
