Advances in Oilheat

Oilheat’s Future Is HOT!

As a real estate professional, it benefits you to learn the advantages of Oilheat, a fuel that is chock full of benefits – such as cleanliness, dependability and efficiency – and an energy source that is on the cutting edge of new technologies.

The National Oilheat Research Institute (NORI), an arm of the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA), has already achieved success in the introduction of a very high-efficiency condensing furnace unit in 2005, followed by an equally efficient condensing boiler in 2006. Now, NORI is working toward developing, testing and introducing into the market Oilheat technology and systems in the areas of biofuels, flexible burners and new products.

Some of the new developments in Oilheat technology include:
• Two-stage furnaces, which deliver a more consistent and comfortable temperature to the home
• Combined condensing boiler/hot water heaters, for greater all-around efficiency and comfort
• Outdoor comfort systems, where the entire heating/cooling unit is outside the home
• Oil-fired heat pumps, which have typically been powered by electricity
• Thermo-photo voltaics, which use the radiation from an Oilheat burner’s flames to generate electric power
• Advanced microprocessor-based controls, which automatically adjust heating equipment as per changing energy needs
• New efficiency standards for residential boilers to clarify equipment efficiency currently expressed in AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) ratings
• Biofuels, the production of which is expected to grow
• XTL (Anything to Liquid) fuels, including coal, corn, solid waste, animal fats and many other organic products
• Ultra-low sulfur Oilheat, which produces lower emissions and burns a lot cleaner than today’s already-low sulfur Oilheat
• Advanced synthetic fuels for oil-fired burners

We can confidently and proudly say, this is not your father’s Oilheat! Please pass it on to your clients!
